What it does well
- TPU plate stiffens the midfoot so the shoe does not twist during split-steps and direction changes. This is the main structural difference from entry-level Yonex India shoes.
- Lateral shell wraps the outer forefoot and keeps the foot sitting over the sole on side-to-side pushes, instead of rolling off the edge.
- Duragrip rubber with Hexa Grip sole grips wooden and synthetic courts, and the compound is built for wear life rather than softness. Non-marking, so it is accepted at every indoor venue in India.
- Tru Shape last follows the natural foot shape, which usually means less pressure on the little toe than generic court shoes.
- Lightweight breathable upper keeps weight down and vents heat during long doubles sessions.
Who is it for
Club and school-level players, coaching-camp regulars, and anyone playing on wooden or synthetic indoor courts three to four times a week who wants a shoe with real midfoot support.
Who should skip it
State-level and above players who need Power Cushion+ shock absorption and a stiffer chassis should look at the Power Cushion 65 range. Anyone playing on cement or outdoor courts will wear the sole down fast regardless of model.
Sizing
Yonex India sizing runs close to true UK size. If you are between sizes or have a wide forefoot, take the next size up. Measure your foot in the evening while standing.
FAQ
Is the Yonex Voltrex 2 made in India?
Yes. The Voltrex 2 is manufactured in India and marketed by Sunrise Sports (India) Pvt Ltd.
Does the Voltrex 2 have a non-marking sole?
Yes. It uses a Hexa Grip sole in Duragrip rubber, which is non-marking and permitted on indoor wooden and synthetic courts.
What is the TPU plate in the Voltrex 2 for?
It stiffens the midfoot so the shoe resists twisting when you change direction. Without it, the shoe flexes at the arch and support drops off during lunges.
Is the Voltrex 2 good for beginners?
Yes. It suits beginner to intermediate club players who want grip, midfoot support and a breathable upper at a mid-range price.
How many colours does the Voltrex 2 come in?
Four colours are available on SportsUncle.
Can the Voltrex 2 be used for squash, table tennis or volleyball?
Yes. The non-marking Hexa Grip sole and lateral support work for any indoor court sport on wooden or synthetic flooring.
How long do Voltrex 2 shoes last?
Roughly 6 to 8 months for a player training three times a week on indoor courts. Duragrip rubber is built for wear life, but cement or outdoor use cuts that sharply.
