The Yonex Nanoflare Nextage is a head-light, speed-focused badminton racket from the 2024 Nextage line, built for intermediate players moving up to a faster, control-led game. It is the head-light counterpart to the head-heavy Astrox Nextage, so it suits players who win points with fast hands and quick net play rather than heavy smashing. This is a genuine Yonex racket made in Taiwan, sold strung and ready to play.

Who this racket is for

The Nanoflare Nextage fits an intermediate player who wants faster swing speed, easier defence, and a soft feel on contact. The 4U weight and head-light balance make it quick to manoeuvre, which helps in fast exchanges at the net and in flat mid-court drives. If you have been playing with a heavier or head-heavy racket and your wrist tires in long rallies, this is a sensible step toward a quicker frame.

Who should look elsewhere

If your main weapon is the smash and you want the head to do the work, a head-heavy frame like the Astrox Nextage will give you more power on the same swing. Complete beginners may also find the medium flex shaft less forgiving than a fully flexible starter racket, and pure power hitters at advanced level will want a stiffer, higher-spec frame from the Nanoflare 800 or 1000 range.

Key technologies

Sonic Flare System: high-modulus graphite placed at the top and bottom of the frame to lift repulsion and shuttle speed on contact.

Nanocell Neo: a frame material that adds strength and keeps the frame responsive without adding weight.

Aero Frame: a smoother frame contour that cuts air resistance so the racket moves faster through the swing.

Isometric head shape: a squarer head that widens the sweet spot for more consistent hitting off-centre.

Energy Boost Cap Plus: a shaft cap that lets the shaft flex while limiting twist, which holds the frame stable on fast shots.

Connected Grommets: linked grommet strips at the base of the frame that support the strings and add stability.

String recommendation

For control-focused players, Yonex suggests a thinner control string such as Bg80 Power or BG66 Ultimax. If you hit harder and want more repulsion with durability, Nanogy 95 or BG65 Ti at the higher end of the tension range work well. The frame takes 20 to 28 lbs; we string up to 26 lbs in-house to protect the frame in transit, and you can re-string higher locally if you want a tighter bed.

Nanoflare Nextage vs Astrox Nextage

Both rackets share the Nextage frame and wide-profile design, but the balance is the deciding factor. The Nanoflare Nextage is head light for speed, fast defence, and net control. The Astrox Nextage is head heavy for power and smashing. Pick the Nanoflare if you value hand speed, and the Astrox if you value attacking weight.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of the Yonex Nanoflare Nextage in India?
It is ₹6,345 at SportsUncle, down from the ₹13,790 list price. Stock and price are kept current on this page.

Is the Nanoflare Nextage head heavy or head light?
It is head light, which makes it faster to swing and easier to defend with than a head-heavy racket.

What is the weight and grip size?
It is a 4U racket, averaging 83 grams, with a G5 grip size.

Does it come strung?
Yes, it ships strung with a full cover. You can also choose custom stringing during checkout if you want a specific string and tension up to 26 lbs.

Is this racket good for intermediate players?
Yes. The Nextage line is built for intermediate players moving to the next stage of their game, with a soft feel and easy handling that suit that level.

What string tension does it support?
The frame is rated for 20 to 28 lbs. Higher tension gives more control and less power, lower tension gives more repulsion.

What is the difference between the Nanoflare Nextage and the Astrox Nextage?
The Nanoflare Nextage is head light for speed and control. The Astrox Nextage is head heavy for power and smashing. Both use the same Nextage frame family.

Yes. It is genuine Yonex stock imported by Sunrise Sports (India) and sold new by SportsUncle.

If you order the Grip, then it will be shipped separately in a corrugated box. The grip will not be applied over the racket to avoid the removal of Barcode/MRP and other useful information. This also helps in understanding that the product is new and unused. Grip color will be assorted/Random, no specific color will be provided.

If you select Custom Stringing, the racket will be strung with the selected string at a maximum of 26 lbs (if the racket supports), otherwise at the maximum tension the racket supports. We don't provide the facility to string more than 26 lbs to avoid transit shock damage.

If you are looking for higher tension, then we suggest that you string it at your end.

There is NO Warranty/Replacement of the strings that break during play, whether that's your first shot or 10th game.

** Custom Stringing Rackets require 2 days extra time for shipping, and such orders can't be cancelled once placed.
