The Yonex Astrox Lite 43i is a lightweight, head-heavy graphite racket built for intermediate players who want a fast swing and enough weight up top to hit through the shuttle. It sits in the Astrox iSeries as the attacking, budget-friendly option: quick to handle in the flat exchanges, but weighted to reward a proper overhead swing.
Who this racket suits
- Intermediate players building an attacking game who want power without a heavy, sluggish frame.
- Doubles players who need a racket fast enough for the front court but with bite on the smash.
- Anyone moving up from a beginner all-rounder who wants their first genuinely head-heavy racket.
Who should skip it
- If you want a pure speed, head-light racket for defence and fast drives, look at the Nanoflare line instead.
- If you string tight (28–30 lbs) and want a stiff, crisp response, this is a flexible shaft and will feel softer than a stiff-shaft racket at the same tension.
- If you already play a heavier 3U racket comfortably, the 5U weight will feel light in the hand.

What the technology actually does
Head-heavy balance: puts more mass behind the string bed, so overhead smashes and clears carry more momentum. It is the main reason this racket feels punchier than a neutral or head-light frame of the same weight.
Isometric head: the squared-off head shape keeps the string grid more even, which widens the usable sweet spot compared with a rounded head, so off-centre hits stay playable.
Aero-box frame: a frame profile that mixes an aerodynamic front with a boxed section for stability, aiming to cut swing drag without turning flimsy on contact.
Nanomesh NEO: a shaft construction that helps the frame recover quickly after contact, which supports fast follow-up shots in flat drive exchanges.
Built-in T-Joint and Control Support Cap: improve frame stability and give a slightly wider hold at the base for grip changes during play.
How it compares in the Lite range
The 43i is the speed-and-power middle option. The 37i leans more towards a pure smashing feel, and the 45i is the more all-court, balanced sibling. All three are 5U and head-heavy; the 43i is the one to pick if you want the quickest handling of the group while keeping attacking weight.
Stringing and grip, done properly
This racket takes up to 30 lbs, but tension is a personal choice. Lower tension (around 20–24 lbs) gives a bigger sweet spot and more repulsion, which suits most intermediate players. Higher tension gives more control and a flatter response for cleaner hitters. We string in-house to a maximum of 26 lbs to protect the frame in transit; if you want it tighter, we recommend having it strung locally after delivery. Custom string and replacement grip options are available above.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Yonex Astrox Lite 43i head-heavy or head-light?
It is head-heavy, with a balance point around 312 mm. That is what gives it its attacking bias on smashes and clears.
What is the weight of the Astrox Lite 43i?
It is a 5U racket, roughly 78 g unstrung, which is light and easy to swing for fast play.
Is the Astrox Lite 43i good for beginners or intermediate players?
It is best for intermediate players building an attacking game. Complete beginners can use it, but the head-heavy balance rewards a developed overhead swing.
What string tension does the Astrox Lite 43i support?
Up to 30 lbs. We string in-house to a maximum of 26 lbs; go higher locally if you prefer a tighter bed.
Is the shaft stiff or flexible?
Flexible. It loads and returns energy on a fuller swing, which helps generate power, but it will feel softer than a stiff-shaft racket at the same tension.
Is this the genuine, made-for-India Yonex racket?
Yes. It is an original Yonex product imported by Sunrise Sports (India) Pvt. Ltd. We sell authentic stock only.
Importer: Sunrise Sports (India) Pvt. Ltd., 6th Floor, Salcon Aurum, Plot No. 4, District Center, Jasola, New Delhi – 110025.

If you order the Grip, then it will be shipped separately in a corrugated box. The grip will not be applied over the racket to avoid the removal of Barcode/MRP and other useful information. This also helps in understanding that the product is new and unused. Grip color will be assorted/Random, no specific color will be provided.
If you select Custom Stringing, the racket will be strung with the selected string at a maximum of 26 lbs (if the racket supports), otherwise at the maximum tension the racket supports. We don't provide the facility to string more than 26 lbs to avoid transit shock damage.
If you are looking for higher tension, then we suggest that you string it at your end.
There is NO Warranty/Replacement of the strings that break during play, whether that's your first shot or 10th game.
** Custom Stringing Rackets require 2 days extra time for shipping, and such orders can't be cancelled once placed.
