The Halbertec 5000 is an even-balance Li-Ning badminton racket built for control, clean shot placement, and steady power. The 6.8mm High-Modulus Slim Shaft and Dynamic Optimum Frame make it one of the most versatile rackets in the Halbertec series at this price point.

Key Features

  • Dynamic Optimum Frame: Wider sweet spot for cleaner contact on off-centre hits.
  • 6.8mm High-Modulus Slim Shaft: Quicker swings with more durability than ultra-slim shafts.
  • HDF Shock Absorption System: Reduces vibration and shock at impact, easier on the wrist.
  • Even Balance: Smooth transitions between attack, control, and defence.
  • Hard Flexible Shaft: Stiff enough for advanced players, forgiving enough for fast-improving intermediates.
  • Max String Tension 30 lbs: Headroom for higher-tension setups.
  • High Modulus Graphite: Strength without added weight.

Built for All-Round Control

The Halbertec 5000 sits in Li-Ning's Halbertec series, the brand's control-focused line designed around even-balance weight distribution.

It is the most accessible entry into the upper Halbertec range, sitting above the 2000 and 4000, and below the 6000, 7000, 8000, and flagship 9000 Power.

Who Should Buy the Halbertec 5000

  • Intermediate players upgrading from a beginner racket who want a stiffer, more responsive feel.
  • Tournament-active club players who need a reliable all-round racket without flagship pricing.
  • Doubles players who want a fast 4U for flat exchanges and quick net rotations.
  • Singles players who rely on placement and rally construction over raw smash power.
  • Players moving into the Halbertec series from a Yonex Nanoflare or Astrox 7DG-class racket.

Why Choose the Halbertec 5000

Most rackets in the ₹10,000 band are either pure attacking head-heavy frames or stripped-down speed rackets. The Halbertec 5000 is neither.

It gives you the control DNA of the Halbertec series with a slightly thicker 6.8mm shaft, which holds up better under repeated string changes and high-tension play than the 6.6mm shafts on the 8000 and 9000 Power.

The HDF shock absorption also makes it noticeably arm-friendly compared to entry-level stiff rackets in the same price range.

Halbertec 5000 vs Halbertec 6000 vs Halbertec 8000

  • Halbertec 5000: 6.8mm shaft, all-round feel, best-value entry into the series.
  • Halbertec 6000: Slightly refined feel, marginal upgrade in control feedback.
  • Halbertec 8000: 6.6mm shaft, sharper response, used by international players.

Recommended String Setup

For intermediate players: Li-Ning No.1 or Yonex BG65 at 22–24 lbs for repulsion and durability. For advanced players: Yonex BG80P at 25–27 lbs for crisper response.

Q1. Is the Halbertec 5000 good for intermediate players? Yes. It is one of the most recommended Halbertec series rackets for intermediate to advanced players. The even balance and stiff 6.8mm shaft suit players developing full swing technique without the harshness of pure flagship rackets.

Q2. What is the maximum string tension on the Halbertec 5000? The maximum recommended string tension is 30 lbs. Most intermediate players string it between 22 and 26 lbs depending on string choice and playstyle.

Q3. Is the Halbertec 5000 head-heavy or even-balanced? It is even-balanced. The weight distribution is neutral across the racket, making it equally usable for attack, defence, and control shots.

Q4. What is the difference between the Halbertec 5000 and Halbertec 8000? The 8000 uses a thinner 6.6mm shaft for sharper feedback and is rated for advanced players. The 5000 uses a 6.8mm shaft, which is more durable and forgiving, making it a better match for intermediate players or club-level tournament play at a lower price point.

Q5. Should I choose the 5000 in 3U or 4U? The 4U (80–84g) is faster to swing and is the standard pick for doubles and quick net play. Choose 3U (85–89g) only if you play singles and prefer a heavier, more powerful feel.

Q6. Does the Halbertec 5000 come strung? The Li-Ning India studio listing ships unstrung by default. You can add free Studio Pro Stringing at checkout to customise string and tension, or string it locally at a sports shop.

If you order the Grip, then it will be shipped separately in a corrugated box. The grip will not be applied over the racket to avoid the removal of Barcode/MRP and other useful information. This also helps in understanding that the product is new and unused. Grip color will be assorted/Random, no specific color will be provided.

If you select Custom Stringing, the racket will be strung with the selected string at a maximum of 26 lbs (if the racket supports), otherwise at the maximum tension the racket supports. We don't provide the facility to string more than 26 lbs to avoid transit shock damage.

If you are looking for higher tension, then we suggest that you string it at your end.

There is NO Warranty/Replacement of the strings that break during play, whether that's your first shot or 10th game.

** Custom Stringing Rackets require 2 days extra time for shipping, and such orders can't be cancelled once placed.
