The Yonex Astrox Lite 45i is a lightweight, head-heavy graphite racket built for players developing an attacking game. At 5U it swings fast, but the weight sits slightly toward the head, so a full overhead swing carries real pace into smashes and clears. It sits in the Astrox iSeries, the range Yonex tunes for Indian playing conditions, and comes in a single Kurenai (deep crimson red) colourway.
Who this racket suits
- Improving and intermediate players who want to build power on smashes and clears without a heavy frame.
- Singles players and rear-court attackers who win points by hitting the shuttle downward.
- Anyone moving up from a beginner all-rounder who wants a genuine head-heavy feel that is still easy to swing.
Who should skip it
- If you want a head-light speed racket for fast net play and defensive doubles, look at the Nanoflare line instead. Nothing in the Astrox Lite range is head-light.
- If you string tight and want a stiff, crisp response, this is a flexible shaft and will feel softer than a stiff-shaft racket at the same tension.
- If you already play a heavier 3U racket comfortably, the 5U weight will feel light in the hand.

What the technology actually does
Head-heavy balance: puts more mass behind the string bed, so overhead smashes and clears carry more momentum. It is the main reason this racket hits heavier than a neutral frame of the same weight.
Isometric head: the squared-off head keeps the string grid more even, which widens the usable sweet spot compared with a rounded head, so off-centre hits stay playable.
Rotational Generator System: Yonex's weight-distribution approach that balances mass across the grip end, frame top and joint, helping the racket recover between shots so you can move from defence to attack.
Aero-Box frame: an aerodynamic front paired with a boxed mid-section, aiming to cut swing drag while keeping the frame stable on contact.
Slim shaft with Nanomesh NEO: the thin, flexible shaft loads on the swing and snaps back quickly, which supports power on smashes and fast follow-ups on drives.
Built-in T-Joint: stiffens the frame-to-shaft connection to reduce head twist for cleaner, more accurate hits.
What colours does the Astrox Lite 45i come in?
In India the Astrox Lite 45i is sold in a single colourway: Kurenai, a deep crimson red. If you have seen a "black" or "navy" Astrox Lite listed, that is usually the Astrox Lite 27i (Dark Navy), a different model in the same range.
Astrox Lite 45i vs Astrox Lite 27i
These two are close siblings, not opposites, and one common claim online is wrong: the 27i is not a head-light speed racket. Both the 45i and the 27i are head-heavy, 5U, G4, flexible-shaft graphite rackets built for attacking play, with the same Yonex technology set and the same 20 to 30 lbs tension range. The differences are small.

In practice, the 27i tends to be listed a touch more head-heavy, so it carries marginally more raw smash bias, while the 45i is a hair quicker to swing. Both are honestly close enough that most players choose on colour, price and availability rather than feel. If you want a genuinely different playing experience, faster and head-light for net and defensive doubles, that is the Nanoflare line, not either of these.
Stringing and grip, done properly
This racket takes up to 30 lbs, but tension is a personal choice. Lower tension (around 20 to 24 lbs) gives a bigger sweet spot and more repulsion, which suits most improving players. Higher tension gives more control and a flatter response for cleaner hitters. We string in-house to a maximum of 26 lbs to protect the frame in transit; if you want it tighter, we recommend having it strung locally after delivery. Yonex BG65 at 22 to 23 lbs is a sensible starting point. Custom string and replacement grip options are available above.

If you order the Grip, then it will be shipped separately in a corrugated box. The grip will not be applied over the racket to avoid the removal of Barcode/MRP and other useful information. This also helps in understanding that the product is new and unused. Grip color will be assorted/Random, no specific color will be provided.
If you select Custom Stringing, the racket will be strung with the selected string at a maximum of 26 lbs (if the racket supports), otherwise at the maximum tension the racket supports. We don't provide the facility to string more than 26 lbs to avoid transit shock damage.
If you are looking for higher tension, then we suggest that you string it at your end.
There is NO Warranty/Replacement of the strings that break during play, whether that's your first shot or 10th game.
** Custom Stringing Rackets require 2 days extra time for shipping, and such orders can't be cancelled once placed.
