The Victor A170 is a wide-fit badminton court shoe built for beginners and recreational players who want comfort and stability without paying flagship prices. Its standout feature is the U-Shape wide fit, which gives extra room across the toes and forefoot for players whose feet feel cramped in standard badminton shoes. If you have wide feet and have struggled to find a court shoe that does not pinch, this is a shoe built specifically for that problem.

Who these are for

The A170 suits beginners, club starters, and recreational players with wide or broad feet who need a roomy, stable shoe for indoor court play. The non-marking sole makes it safe for academy and synthetic-court floors, and the ENERGYMAX cushioning takes the sting out of lunges and quick stops. It is also a sensible first court shoe for anyone moving from ordinary trainers to a proper badminton shoe.

Who should look at a different shoe?

If you have narrow or standard-width feet, the wide U-Shape last will feel too roomy, and a regular-fit shoe will hold your foot better. This is an entry-level shoe, priced and built for everyday recreational play rather than hard daily tournament use.

Key features

U-Shape wide fit: a wider last with extra toe and forefoot room, shaped to suit players with broad feet and reduce pinching during play.

ENERGYMAX cushioning: an EVA midsole with Victor's ENERGYMAX foam for shock absorption that softens landings and lunges.

Nylon stability sheet: a nylon sheet in the midsole that adds midfoot support and stability during quick direction changes.

PU leather and mesh upper: a hard-wearing PU leather upper combined with breathable mesh for airflow, so the foot stays cooler through long sessions.

Non-marking rubber outsole: a durable rubber sole that grips indoor courts well and leaves no marks, safe for wooden, synthetic, and mat floors.

What U-Shape wide fit means

Victor's U-Shape sole follows the natural curve of the foot for grip on side-to-side lunges, and the wide-fit version of the last opens up extra space across the toes. For players with broad feet, that combination is the difference between a shoe that grips the court but crushes the foot and one that supports quick movement while staying comfortable. It is the main reason to choose the A170 over a standard-width court shoe.

Choosing your size

Pick your size by foot length in centimetres rather than guessing from your usual brand, since court-shoe sizing varies. Measure your foot heel to longest toe and match it to the size chart. Because this is a wide-fit shoe, players with standard-width feet who like a snug fit may prefer to take their exact size rather than sizing up.

Caring for your shoes

Wipe the sole and upper clean after play and let them air-dry away from direct heat, since heat hardens the PU upper and shortens its life. Use these indoors on court only, as outdoor surfaces wear the non-marking sole quickly. A pair of cushioned insoles can extend comfort if you play long sessions.

To measure your foot, place a blank piece of paper larger than your foot on the floor against the wall. Tape the paper down to the floor. Stand on the paper with your heel slightly touching the wall. Then use a pen to draw a straight line touching the outermost point of your toe.

Use your ruler or measuring tape to measure the length from the bottom of the paper to the top line that you drew.

This number is your actual foot measurement, you can add 1-2 cm and convert them to the appropriate size.
