The Khanna glow in the dark cricket bat grip is a polyurethane (PU) grip that charges up under normal light and glows green once the lights drop, so your bat handle stays visible whenever the light fades, from night nets to floodlit games. It uses a ring and chevron texture for an anti-slip hold, whether your hands are sweaty or you bat in gloves.
Made by Khanna Sports in Meerut, this is a PU cricket grip rather than ordinary rubber, which is what gives it higher strength and a longer life on the handle. One grip is enough for a standard bat, and many batters add a second for extra cushion.

PU grip vs rubber grip
Khanna prints the lab numbers on the box. The PU grip scores higher than standard rubber on tensile and tear strength, and stretches further before tearing:
| Property | Khanna PU grip | Standard rubber |
|---|---|---|
| Tensile strength | 8.25 N/mm | 6.25 N/mm |
| Tear strength | 5.51 kg/cm | 4.76 kg/cm |
| Elongation | 747% | 673% |
Higher tensile and tear strength means the grip is harder to split when you stretch it over the handle, and the extra elongation lets it wrap tight without tearing.
How the glow works
The PU is mixed with a photoluminescent compound. Leave the grip under room light, sunlight or a phone torch for a minute or two and it stores that light, then releases it as a soft green glow once it gets dark. The glow fades slowly and recharges every time it sees light again, so there is no battery and nothing to switch on.
Who it is for
This grip suits night and floodlit cricket, plus tape ball and box cricket, where the handle is hard to see in low light. It also appeals to anyone who just wants a grip that stands out. The PU build makes it a sensible pick if you wear through rubber grips quickly.
How to fit the grip
Slide the grip over the bat handle using a grip cone, or roll it down from the top with a little talc, working out any air pockets as you go. To swap it later, cut along the old grip and peel it off.
FAQs
Does the Khanna cricket grip really glow in the dark?
Yes. It is made from photoluminescent PU. After a short spell under any light, it glows green in the dark, then needs to recharge under light again.
Is a PU grip better than a rubber grip?
On Khanna's own box figures the PU grip beats standard rubber on tensile strength, tear strength and stretch, so it tends to last longer and resist splitting. Rubber still works fine and usually costs less.
Will one grip fit my bat?
One grip fits a standard senior bat handle. Many players add a second grip for a thicker, softer feel.
Does it need a battery or charging?
No. There is no battery. Light is the only thing that charges the glow.
Can I use it for tennis ball or tape ball cricket?
Yes. It fits any standard bat handle, including tennis ball and tape ball bats.
