JOOLA Perseus Power FX 16mm: JOOLA's first foam paddle
The Power FX is JOOLA's first full-foam pickleball paddle. It pairs an EPP foam core with an extended version of JOOLA's Propulsion Core, in the popular elongated Perseus shape.
The result is a paddle built for easy power. It generates pace from a normal swing and stays forgiving on off-centre hits. This first release comes in the green and teal Daydream colourway.

What makes the Power FX different
- Full-foam core: most paddles use a polypropylene honeycomb core. The Power FX uses EPP foam instead, which spreads the response across more of the face. Off-centre hits keep more speed and feel more predictable.
- Extended Propulsion Core: JOOLA's patented core reaches further into the paddle than in earlier models. It works like a longer diving board, flexing on contact and springing forward, so you get more power with less effort.
- More dwell time: the ball stays on the face slightly longer, which helps with control and placement despite the extra power.
- High-grit surface: a revised carbon weave and resin give the face more grip for spin. There are no embedded particles, so the texture is built into the surface itself.
The Perseus shape
Perseus is elongated with rounded top corners, so you get extra reach while the sweet spot stays centred.
- More reach on wide balls and volleys at the kitchen line.
- More leverage for drives and serves from the baseline.
- Combined with the foam core, the sweet spot feels larger than on a typical elongated paddle.
Who it is for
- Players who want more pace without swinging harder
- Intermediate players looking for a forgiving power paddle
- Players who like the reach of an elongated shape but want a bigger sweet spot
- Anyone curious to try foam technology from a major brand at below JOOLA's flagship price
Who should skip it
- Touch and control players: this is a power paddle. If your game is built on soft dinks and resets, a control-focused paddle like the JOOLA Perseus Pro V 16mm may suit you better.
- Complete beginners: extra power can make it harder to keep the ball in the court while you learn. A standard-shape control paddle is easier to start with.
- Players who want proven long-term durability: foam cores are a newer technology across all brands, and their lifespan under heavy play is still being established.
Power FX vs Perseus Pro V
Both use the same Perseus shape. The difference is what is inside.
- Power FX: full-foam core, more effortless power and a more forgiving face. Lower price.
- Pro V: polypropylene core with KineticFrame, more control and touch. JOOLA's tour-level flagship, used by Ben Johns.
Choose Power FX if you want free pace. Choose Pro V if you want maximum control.

Frequently asked questions
What is a foam pickleball paddle?
A foam paddle uses a foam core instead of the usual polypropylene honeycomb. Foam tends to give more pop and a larger sweet spot, so off-centre hits lose less power. The Power FX is JOOLA's first paddle built this way.
Is the JOOLA Power FX more powerful than the Pro V?
Yes. Early testers found the Power FX generates more pace than the Pro V. The Pro V gives more control and touch in return.
Is the Power FX good for beginners?
It is forgiving, but it is also a power paddle. Players who are still learning to control the ball will usually do better with a control-focused paddle first. Improving players who struggle to generate pace may find it a good fit.
What does Daydream mean?
Daydream is the name of the colourway, a green and teal design. It is the first colour JOOLA released for the Power FX.
Is this paddle approved for tournaments?
Check the approval marking on the paddle face if you are buying for a sanctioned event.
Is this a genuine JOOLA paddle?
Yes. SportsUncle sources every JOOLA product through JOOLA's official distribution in India. We have supplied genuine sports equipment to players across India since 2016.
