Victor Thruster TTY Ultima (TK-TTY Ultima A) badminton racket
The Thruster TTY Ultima is the racket from Victor's YINGcredible collection, a tribute to Tai Tzu Ying. She held the women's singles world No. 1 ranking for a record 214 weeks and won 32 career singles titles before retiring in November 2025.
It is a head-heavy, stiff Thruster K frame built for attacking play. Compared with the earlier Thruster TTY, Victor added Metallic Carbon Fiber to the frame and upgraded the throat to WES 3.0, so the Ultima feels crisper and releases power faster on a full swing.
How it plays
The head-heavy balance carries momentum through the swing, so clears reach the back line with less effort and smashes land heavy. The 6.5mm shaft is stiff. It keeps the frame stable and accurate when you hit hard, but it needs a quick, well-timed swing to bend and return energy.
Metallic Carbon Fiber, a thin metal sheet fused with carbon fibre, firms up the frame and gives a direct feel at contact. WES 3.0 (Whipping Enhance System) uses a revised material layup at the throat to snap the head through at the end of the swing, which helps on steep smashes and sharp half-smashes.
The Free Core synthetic handle and Power Ring take some sting out of off-centre hits. Even so, this is a firm racket, and a late swing over a long session will show up in the forearm.
The trade-off is front-court speed. Like most head-heavy frames, it turns slower in fast flat exchanges and net scrambles than an even or head-light racket.
Who it suits
- Advanced singles players who attack from the rear court with deep clears and steep smashes.
- Doubles players who mainly play at the back and want a heavy smash.
- Owners of the earlier Thruster TTY who want a crisper, faster-releasing version of the same head-heavy shape.
- Players who string at 26 lbs or higher and want a frame rated to 31 lbs.
Who should skip it
- Beginners and developing players. The stiff shaft and heavy head need good technique and can tire the arm.
- Front-court doubles players who live in fast flat exchanges. An even-balanced speed racket such as the Victor Auraspeed 100X Ultra will turn faster.
- Players who want easy power from a softer shaft. A medium-flex racket will be more forgiving.

TTY Ultima vs Thruster TTY: what changed
The original Thruster TTY (TK-TTY A) was Tai Tzu Ying's signature racket from Victor's "Infinite" collection. The Ultima keeps the same head-heavy shape, 6.5mm shaft and 31 lb rating, and changes the frame and throat.
| Thruster TTY Ultima | Thruster TTY (TK-TTY A) | |
|---|---|---|
| Flex | Stiff | Slightly stiff |
| Balance | Head heavy | Head heavy |
| Frame | HM Graphite, Metallic Carbon Fiber, Hard Cored Technology | HM Graphite, Hard Cored Technology |
| Throat | WES 3.0 | Earlier construction |

| Handle | Free Core + Power Ring | Free Core + Power Ring |
| Max tension (4U) | 31 lbs | 31 lbs |
The Thruster TTY is the more forgiving of the two and gives easier power at moderate swing speeds. The Ultima is firmer and quicker to release, which suits players who already swing fast. See the Victor Thruster TTY (TK-TTY A).
Recommended string and tension
Victor rates the frame to 31 lbs. Most advanced club players get the best mix of control and string life at 26 to 28 lbs. Go higher only if you hit cleanly and consistently. A thin, high-repulsion string matches the frame's crisp feel, while a 0.68 to 0.70mm string lasts longer if you play daily. Browse our badminton strings.
The racket is supplied unstrung. You can add paid custom stringing at checkout up to 27 lbs, which adds 2 days to dispatch. For 28 lbs and above, string it locally after delivery.
Frequently asked questions
What is the price of the Victor Thruster TTY Ultima in India?
The MRP is ₹17,900. On SportsUncle it is ₹13,395 including GST, with free delivery across India.
What is the difference between the TTY Ultima and the Thruster TTY?
The Ultima adds Metallic Carbon Fiber to the frame and uses WES 3.0 at the throat. It is stiffer and releases power faster, while the older Thruster TTY is slightly softer and more forgiving. Both are head heavy with a 6.5mm shaft and a 31 lb rating.
Is the TTY Ultima head heavy or head light?
Head heavy. The extra mass in the head gives more momentum on smashes and clears, at the cost of some speed in fast front-court exchanges.
Is the Victor TTY Ultima good for beginners?
No. The stiff shaft and head-heavy balance need a fast, well-timed swing. Beginners will improve faster with a lighter, medium-flex racket. Our badminton racket selector can help you find one.
Is it a singles or a doubles racket?
It suits singles players who attack from the back of the court, and doubles players who mainly play at the rear. Front-court doubles players will usually prefer an even-balanced speed racket.
What is the maximum string tension for the TTY Ultima?
31 lbs (14 kg) for the 4U G5 version.
Is this the racket Tai Tzu Ying uses?
The Ultima is the tribute racket from Victor's YINGcredible collection, built around her head-heavy attacking style. Her earlier signature model was the Thruster TTY (TK-TTY A).
Is the TTY Ultima on SportsUncle genuine?
Yes. It is a new, original Victor racket, made in Taiwan and marketed in India by Victor Rackets Pvt. Limited, Gurugram. SportsUncle has supplied genuine badminton gear to players across India since 2016.

This also helps in understanding that the product is new and unused. Grip color will be assorted/Random, no specific color will be provided.
If you select Custom Stringing, the racket will be strung with the selected string at a maximum of 27 lbs (if the racket supports), 2-knot stringing, otherwise, at the maximum tension the racket supports. We don't provide the facility to string more than 27 lbs to avoid transit shock damage.
If you are looking for higher tension, then we suggest that you string it at your end.
